Settlement imposed bans on business opportunities and robocalls
The FTC alleged that Randon Morris and four companies he controlled initiated millions of robocalls nationwide to promote work-from-home business opportunity programs. The companies named in the documents are National Web Design, LLC, B2B Website Design, LLC, Amazon Affiliate Program, LLC, and R&C Consultation, LLC. According to the FTC, the defendants promised that consumers could earn hundreds of dollars a day and falsely claimed an affiliation with Amazon.com. The FTC also alleged that pandemic concerns were invoked in calls aimed at people worried about working outside their homes.
A federal court granted a temporary restraining order on December 1, 2020. The order stopped the challenged sales practices, froze assets, and appointed a receiver over the companies.
Under a later settlement, Morris and the four companies were permanently banned from pitching business opportunities or work-at-home programs and from involvement with robocalls. The order also prohibits unsubstantiated or misleading earnings claims, false affiliation claims, and misrepresentations of key facts about a product or service. A court entered the order on March 12, 2021. The settlement included a judgment of more than $2 million that was partially suspended and required surrender of funds from specified accounts, but the documents do not state the amount to be surrendered.

The stipulated order does not report an admission. The broader sweep figures in the December 2020 release cover multiple actions and are not attributed to Morris.
